The Mayor of Cheltenham had a busy couple of weeks in the summer welcoming students from our twin towns of Annecy France and Weihai China.
The group of 30 Annecy young people and 55 Weihai youngsters were in Cheltenham from 8-29 July attending Gloucestershire College’s international summer school. The 3 week programme included English lessons, sport and sightseeing trips and all the young people stayed in local homes. Both groups met the Mayor in the Council Chamber where gifts were exchanged and youngsters aspired to being the Mayor as they tried on the chain of office.
